He has also restored their human dignity. 3.Father LaColumiere was born February 2, 1641 with a gift of love and mercy. He became the confessor for St. Margaret Mary Alacoque. He died in 1682 and was canonized by Pope John Paul II on May 31, 1992. 4. A young woman with no purpose in life cried out to the Lord for help. She immediately felt warmth from God. Father Hermann Bowers, a Motor Bike Priest, in Eastern Europe; Underground Romania Church during Communist reign of 50 years; impact of the Folklore Movement to the Youth Group on the island of Kiribati in the South Pacific; Life of a family in Benin Africa 1. The story of Father Bowers, an Army soldier-biker-priest, who ministers to the soldiers and people in Eastern Europe along the Belgium/German border. As a young person he was cured after receiving the Eucharist. His devotion to Our Blessed Mother has led him to make pilgrimages to Lourdes. 2. Greco Catholics in Romania had to go underground to celebrate Mass and the sacraments to avoid prison and torture. Many priests and laity suffered torture for years, but ministered to their flock in prison. Bishop Vasile Aftenie (1899-1950) was among those died after tortuous treatment. Priests were secretly ordained and say, "Glory to Jesus" as they rebuild their churches and lives. 3. There are 33 small islands along the Equator in the South Pacific where the hopelessness of the youth lead to drugs, drinking, and stealing. The Folkalore movement has inspired some young people to become leaders to their people. It has become a haven where their lives are changed as they grow in knowledge of Jesus Christ. 4. A village is Africa made up of a large number of extended families that work, pray, and teach the young the skills of living, reading, and caring for one another. He works with the boys to give them 'worth' by teaching practical skills like milking cows making cheese along with the book learning for the 'real' world. 2. Rose Villa is a home for mothers who choose to have their babies and for barren couples to adopt. Sisters run the home, teaching the girls how to be mothers and make decisions on adoption. One couple waited 16 years for a child praying and having faith and trust in God to give them a child at the proper time. 3. Father Gelineau (Jesuit), Pastor, Composer, Liturgist, Theologian is caught up in the French Alps where he is inspired to compose Gregorian music for the Mass. He believes inspired music enhances the Liturgy. 4. Sisters of St. Agnes were tortured and repressed during Communist rule, but thrived due to their faith in God. When the sisters were arrested during Chapel they viewed it like the soldiers coming to arrest Jesus in the garden. He says "Churches have been the sponsors of Art through the centuries bringing to life the stories of Faith". His goal is to keep alive the sacred pieces of art for generations to come through modern technology. 2. Dr. Juan Ortiz was educated in various distinguised schools but has chosen to work in the very poor area of Peru ministering to their physical as well as the spriitual needs. He believes God's love and mercy can be given to them. Some have been baptized through his witness of self-giving love. The people have stated that without his help they would have died for lack of care. He gives the glory to God. 3. In 1985 a Catholic organization in Switzerland was formed to help polilical refugees from Bosnia and other countries relocate. There are stories of helping one another through tragedies, being at the bedside of the dying, and an older man giving a Nigerian a place in his home. 4. Michael O'Brien traded his life as a secular artist for a call from the Lord to use his talents for Him. He believes that religious art is to remind people they are made in the image of God for love, truth, and beauty. 1.The Agapy Community have been called to go to the streets in the most dangerous area of Barcelona. They preach Jusus crucified to drug addicts, prostitutes, and the lost sheep.  2. The brothers go out and invite the homeless for food, spiritual and physical needs. They receive donations from food banks and volunteers also help with caring for the children. Medical care is also provided from the staff. 3. Thousands of pilgrims come to this island to participate in a 40-hour cleansing and prayer for a closer relationship to God. They now are being nourished with Christ, body and soul. 2. Blessed Joseph Gerrard brought Christianity to Lesotho in Africa 100 years ago. After turning her life to Christ, Mosoeu, a former prostitute and party girl  runs a daycare with no running water or electricity, but teaches the little ones about Jesus and His love for them. 3. A priest in Lithuania has given his life to build a church and parish for the youth since their parents and the older generation are indifferent to God now. The youth are witnessing with their lives that God is still alive. 4. A family in St. Petersburg, Russia who were exposed to the radiation of the Chernobyl disaster live with 2 other families in an apartment they share. Their young daughter has put her faith in Christ and want to become a doctor to help others as she has been helped
